Values Based Education

We focus on one Core Value each term. A values-based school seeks to promote an educational philosophy based on valuing self, others and the environment through, the consideration of an ethical values vocabulary (principles that guide behaviour), as the basis of good educational practice. It encourages children to model values and to give time for reflective practices that empowers individuals to be effective learners and good citizens. It helps pupils to develop holistically, nurturing a secure sense of self, respect for self and others and supports the raising of academic standards.

Friendship

Whole School Roald Dahl theme

Gina in Year 6 wrote:

He's happy and cheerful. He is excited for Charlie and always positive.

Erin in Year 6 wrote:

He gives Charlie hope that the can find a golden ticket. He is always excited.

Term 2

Compassion

The pupils voted to donate half of the money they raised on their class stalls at the Christmas Bazaar to Children in Need. Their donation was £71.45.

2015-16

Queen Elizabeth II is 90!

Our democratically elected School Council presented a Queen's birthday commemorative coin to every pupil in school. Thank you to our PTA (FONS 'Friends of Nythe School') who paid for these. During the presentation we listened to an arrangement of 'Greensleeves' by the British composer Vaughan Williams. The children started planning the School Street Party. We ended by all standing to sing the National Anthem.
